RESUMPTION OF STUDENTS FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION.

Dear Students, Parents & Guardians,

We are pleased to inform you that the new academic session will commence on Monday, January 05, 2026, for fresh students.

Returning students are expected to resume on Monday, January 19, 2026, and classes will begin promptly.

Further details regarding orientation for freshmen and other activities are already in the Calendar of Events and the under listed releases.

Also find below other requirements for a seamless registration process.

A. INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES OFFERED PROVISIONAL ADMISSION FOR THE 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

Candidates offered provisional admission are required to adopt the following guidelines to regularize their acceptance of the offer:

1) Visit the JAMB Portal and accept your admission on CAPS by clicking “Accept Admission”. Candidates who fail to accept their admission on JAMB CAPS would not be issued JAMB Admission Letter and would be deemed as not admitted.

 

2) Visit the University of Nigeria website (www.unn.edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.unn.edu.ng), log in with your JAMB Registration number to generate and download a Payment Invoice which contains a Remita number. The invoice will enable you to make payment at any Commercial Bank, including UNN Microfinance Bank.

 

3) With the Payment Invoice, candidates are requested to pay Fifty Thousand Naira Only (N50, 000.00) as acceptance fee.  Consequently, first year students who had earlier paid #30, 000 are required to pay a balance of #20, 000 to complete the payment by generating the balance fee invoice from the acceptance fee invoice page.

 

4) Ensure that the Invoice number is keyed in appropriately at the Bank and obtain a confirmation slip containing your Confirmation number and Invoice number.

 

5) Visit the University of Nigeria website (www.unn.edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.edu.ng) again and login your JAMB registration Number, the Confirmation Number and Invoice Number, then print the admissionslip and complete the Acceptance Form online.

 

6) Proceed with other fee payments and registration as indicated on the University of Nigeria website.

 

7) Candidates should note that this admission is provisional.

 

8) If at any time in the future, including final year, it is discovered that any candidate does not possess the minimum university and the faculty/departmental entry requirements for the course as prescribed by the Senate of the University, and published in JAMB Brochure, the offer of admission will be withdrawn.

 

 

B. FREE TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENT FROM NSUKKA BUS TERMINAL

The university has arranged free transportation from the bus terminal in Nsukka town to the campus for all new students.

– Date: 5th-9th January 2026

– Time: 12 -6 pm daily

– Location for Departure: Nsukka Bus Terminal

Destination: UNN Campus

C. PROCESS FLOW FOR TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION FOR FIRST YEAR STUDENTS

 

Newly admitted first year students, who wish to be accommodated temporally in our holding hostels, pending their payment of hostel fees, should adhere to the following.

 

1.​For Nsukka Campus, visit Alvan Ikoku (Male) and Okpara (Female) hostels in Nsukka Campus and meet the Hall Supervisors for processing and Checking-in.

2.​For Enugu Campus, visit Kenneth Dike (Male) and Mariere (Female) hostels in Enugu Campus and meet the Hall Supervisors for processing and Checking-in

3.​Candidates interested in the temporary accommodation MUST submit the following three documents to the Hall Supervisor

​​A.​A copy of the acceptance fee receipt;

C.​A copy of the particular page showing the candidate’s name in the admission list; and

B.​A copy of any of the following officially acceptable identification (ID) cards, which can be the Nation ID Card, International Passport, Voter’s Card.

4.​In addition to No.3, the Hall Supervisor MUST physically sight the original ID card and the ID card must rhyme with the name of the candidate as appeared on the admission page 

5.​THIS TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION IS FOR NEWLY ADMITTED STUDENTS ONLY

6.​The temporary accommodation starts from the date of school resumption and will last for six days only without extension. 

 

 

D. PROCESS FLOW FOR NEW STUDENTS

Registration of students will take place in the various faculties with effect from 5th January 2026; conference registration for Faculties of Clinical Sciences, Dentistry and Health Sciences and Technology will be in Ekpo Convocation Hall, Nsukka from Monday January 12, 2026.

1.Visit the UNN Portal- www.unnportal.unn.edu.ng

2. Verify your account (Ensure you enter your email address correctly).

3. A link will be sent your email to change your password. 

4. Change password.

5. Login to your student portal with your registration number as username and the password you just created.

6. Go to menu on the left corner of the screen.

7. Go to academic fees.

8. Select new invoice.

9. Get invoice for acceptance fee.

10. Make payment for acceptance fees at any bank or using your ATM card.

11. Get invoice for school fees.

12. Make payment for school fees at any bank or using your ATM card.

13. Visit your faculty officer for clearance with all the necessary documents (See page 5).

14. Get registration number.

15. Get invoice for hostel accommodation.

16. Pay hostel accommodation at any bank or using your ATM card.

17. Register your courses.

18. Go for lectures.

F. OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO NEW STUDENTS

As you prepare for resumption in the 2025/2026 academic session, kindly note the following:

1. The University will not call or send you any email requesting for monies online. Beware of fraudsters.

2. Any student who has double admission should endeavour to send an email to: doubleadmission@unn.edu.ng with the preferred course for immediate resolution.

3. Visit the UNN website regularly for regular updates.

4. Ensure that you have changed to the current department you were admitted on JAMB CAPS to ensure prompt processing of your Jamb admission letter.

5. Issues with recovery of RRR can be resolved by sending an email to recoveryrrr@unn.edu.ng

8. Candidate should be 16 years to be eligible for registration.
