INFORMATION ON CED 341 (INTRODUCTION TO ENTREPRENEURSHIP) EXAMINATION

This is to inform all students offering CED 341 (Introduction to Entrepreneurship) that the examination will hold on Thursday, 12th September 2024, from 8 am to 4 pm on both university campuses. You are expected in the before 7:45 am with your school ID cards or a letter of identification duly signed by your Head of the Department for identification. In addition, you are expected to come with the printout of your registered course. The batching and the venue are attached.

 

Please note that you are not allowed inside the examination venue with any electronic devices (calculator, mobile phone, snippers of any type, recorder of any type etc.). You will be sanctioned if you are caught with any of these devices.

 

The examination batching will be followed strictly. That means you will not be allowed to take the exam if you miss your scheduled batch. Please alert the invigilators when you experience any difficulty during the exam. However, shut down your system or close your browser to save your time if they delay coming to your assistance. Students whose details were not captured biometrically will automatically not be allowed to take the examination.

DISBURSEMENT OF FUNDS FOR TETFUND INSTITUTIONAL BASED RESEARCH (IBR) PROJECTS

  1. The under listed applicants (21 Nos.) whose research proposals were selected and recommended to TETFund for funding under year 2024 Institution-Based Research (IBR) Intervention are hereby notified that their funds are ready for disbursement.

 

  1. Please note that the amount disbursed represent 60% first tranche of the total cost of the project. The second tranche payment of 40% will only be released when the Researcher must have published at least one article from the findings of the research in any referred Journal with impact factor of at least 3 (three) and above, evidence of which should be submitted to TETfund.

 

  1. TETFund should be acknowledged as the sponsor of the research in a footnote in the first page of a paper citing the research project no. (TETF/DR&D/CE/UNI/NSUKKA/BR/2024/VOL.IB)

 

  1. The Lead Researcher to open an IBR Bank account into which the funds will be credited.

 

  1. Quarterly progress reports by the researchers be forwarded to the Fund for monitoring purposes. The quarterly reports should be regularly submitted until the entire intervention is completed and closed out.

 

  1. Upon completion of the Research Projects, you are expected to forward to TETFund a close out/completion report (including copies of the financial receipts obtained in respect of the Research Projects). You are also required to forward three (3 Nos.) bound copies of the Research Report for the Research Project within three (3) months of completion.

 

  1. You should please insert in the application for release of approved fund a statement of commitment to fully comply with the above stated conditions.

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka hereby extends the PUTME Registration for 2024/2025 Academic session for candidates who applied UNN as their first choice in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored 160 and above for screening exercise by one month.
1. Online Registration
A. Eligible candidates are required to pay a processing fee of N2,000.00 (Two thousand Naira only) through Remita Platform at any Commercial bank.
B. The online registration commenced on Wednesday August 8, 2024 and ends on Friday, August 23, 2024 is hereby extended by one month. This is to allow people to have access to the form and also people that changed institution to University of Nigeria to be able to participate in the exercise.
Candidates are encouraged to visit the University website regularly for updates on the Screening exercise.

JOINT UNIVERSITIES PRELIMINARY EXAMINATIONS BOARD (JUPEB)

2024/2025 JUPEB ADMISSION

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme for the 2024/2025 academic session. The programme leads to the award of JUPEB certificate, which enables candidates to gain Direct Entry Admissions into various degree programmes in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and other JUPEB – affiliated Universities in Nigeria and abroad.

ELIGIBILITY: Eligible candidates must possess a minimum of 5 Credits at maximum of two sittings which include Mathematics and English Language and other relevant subjects to the candidates’ desired course of study in the University.

DURATION: The duration of the programme is a minimum of one academic session of two semesters.

The above subject combinations meet the requirements (as applicable) for admission into various courses in the Sciences, Social Sciences, Management Sciences and Arts in University of Nigeria, Nsukka and all JUPEB – affiliated Universities in Nigeriaand abroad.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES:

The applicant should pay the application fee of N20,000.00 through remita payment platform at any bank. He/she should generate a payment invoice which contains remita number. The invoice printout will enable him/her to make payment at the bank. (Please note that Bank charges apply)

 

The Summary of the procedures for the application is as follows:

  1. Visit unn.edu.ng
  2. Click on Generate Payment Invoice under JUPEB.
  3. Enter your telephone number and click on submit.
  4. Enter your Surname, First name, Middle name and click on submit.
  5. Print out the invoice and pay at the bank
  6. After making payments at the bank visit the portal (unnportal.unn.edu.ng)
  7. Click on fill Joint Universities Preliminary Admissions Board programme
  8. Enter the remita number and click on submit.
  9. Fill the form and attach your passport (colour passport photograph with white background).
  10. The passport photograph must be recent (not earlier than 3 months before the time of the application) and the size should not be more than 100KB.
  11. Complete the form and click on submit
  12. Print out the acknowledgment slip.

 

Note that JUPEB UNN has not authorized any person(s) or agent(s) to sell application forms on its behalf. UNN JUPEB Application and all payment is strictly online through the UNN Portal at www.unnportal.unn.edu.ng using Remita and not through individual bank account.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION:

  • All prospective JUPEB candidates are advised to regularly visit unn.edu.ng as well as their email for updates and other relevant information.
  • All candidates are required to register for 2025 JAMB Direct Entry at the appropriate time.
  • The forms must be filled and submitted online either immediately or within two weeks of accessing the website. No downloaded or printed copies of forms will be accepted.
  • Candidates are advised to follow the Application Instructions very carefully and ensure they select the Correct SUBJECT COMBINATIONS. Failure to do so may adversely affect the candidate.

INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES OFFERED PROVISIONAL ADMISSION FOR THE 2023/2024 ACADEMIC SESSION

Candidates offered provisional admission are required to adopt the following guidelines to regularize their acceptance of the offer:

  • Visit the University of Nigeria website (edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.edu.ng), log in your form number to generate and download a Payment Invoice which contains a Remitta number, the invoice will enable you to make payment at any Commercial Bank.

 

  • With the Payment Invoice, the candidate is requested to pay Thirty Thousand Naira Only (N30, 000.00) acceptance fee. Ensure that the Invoice number is keyed in appropriately at the Bank and obtain a confirmation slip containing your Confirmation number and Invoice number.

 

  • Visit the University of Nigeria website (edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.edu.ng) again and login your Form Number, the Confirmation Number and Invoice Number, then print the Admission slip and complete the Acceptance Form online.

 

  • Proceed with other fee payments and registration as indicated on the University of Nigeria website.

 

  • Candidates should note that this admission is provisional.

 

  • If at any time in future, including final year, it is discovered that any candidate does not possess the minimum university and the faculty/departmental entry requirements for the course as prescribed by the Senate of the University, the offer of admission will be withdrawn.

Journal of Economics and Allied Research (JEAR)

Aims and Scope

Journal of Economics and Allied Research (JEAR) is a peer-reviewed open access journal published by the Centre for Contemporary Economics and Allied Research (CCEAR), Department of  Economics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

The journal accepts state of the art research in the following areas: All areas of mainstream economics as well as other areas such as education, environment, health, economics geography, development issues, social and cultural issues, petroleum and energy economics, political economy, and public policy.
The journal publishes articles quarterly (March, June, September and December Issues). The journal can also publish more than four times a year depending on the rate of submission and also based on editorial board’s decision. Articles involving cross sectional, cross country, time series and panel studies are welcome. In selecting articles for publication (from articles that have passed the review process) the journal will endeavour to strike a balance among the subject areas and
methodological approaches. In order to facilitate the speed of acceptance, articles addressing current economic problems or challenges with specific policy relevance will be given priority.
