CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

 

The Water and Public Health Research Group (WPHRG) and the Gender and Policy Development Center (Gen-Cent) at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) in collaboration with Global Alliances in Literacy and Engagement (GALE) and the Center for Gender in Global Context (GenCen) at Michigan State University (MSU) call for applications to participate in a Writing Workshop being held as a part of the 5th International Conference on Water in Africa (ICWA) scheduled for March 18 – 22, 2026.
Writing is a critical tool for sustainable development, and the focus of the annual ICWA writing workshop cohorts is on developing capacity in academic and grant writing amongst early career researchers in sub-Saharan Africa. The 2026 edition, although open to all, will end with a Write- in component after the close of the conference, dedicated to supporting women in their efforts to research and publish around water and health.
Dates: March 19-21, 2026
Venue: Roar Nigeria Hub, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Eligibility: Candidate must have a Mentor/Supervisor. The candidate, with the mentor’s support, should provide a tentative title and submit a draft of the manuscript to develop during the workshop.
Application Deadline: January 30, 2026.
Acceptance Notification: On a rolling basis until February 15, 2026.
Registration Fee: 25,000 NGN
Registration Deadline: February 21, 2026.
