TETFUND ACADEMIC STAFF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT (AST&D) INTERVENTION: IMPORTANT UPDATES

This is to notify all prospective academic staff applicants for TETFund scholarship intervention that there has been a crucial review of the TETFund guidelines for accessing AST&D Intervention effective from 2020 intervention year as follows:

  1. The requirement that applicants must be confirmed academic staff has been abrogated. Henceforth, unconfirmed staff are eligible to apply.
  1. Sponsorship for Bench work hitherto restricted to only scholars being sponsored locally by TETFund has also been liberalized to accommodate staff who are pursuing their postgraduate programme in-house i.e. staff are eligible to apply for Bench work notwithstanding whether they are being sponsored by TETFund locally or not.
  1. Academic staff of our university who are pursuing postgraduate study locally (in house) are hereby encouraged to scout for Bench spaces abroad in order to take advantage of this opportunity on offer by TETFund to facilitate, and deepen the quality of their post graduate research project.
  1. Prospective applicants for year 2020 TETFund scholarship grant are to please note that;
  1. Preference may be given to applicants who are able to secure tuition fee free scholarship; and admissions with low cost involvement. This will allow for more scholars to be accommodated;
  2. The requirement for the institution where training is to take place to be within the top 10% in the respective countries is no longer tenable. What is required now is for the training institution to be above the best world rated/ranked university in Nigeria.
