Biography :

Nkalu, Chigozie Nelson is a Lecturer and Researcher in the Department of Economics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is currently a PhD candidate of Economics in the Department of Economics, Aberdeen Business School, University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK under the sponsorship of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund) overseas scholarship for academic staff training and development (AST&D). Nelson has published widely in both local and international peer-reviewed and impact factor journals of world-class repute – some of which can be accessed in his Research Gate account:


Nelson bagged his BSc. Economics in 2011 and MSc. Economics (Development Economics) in 2017 with flying colours – all at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Nelson was once a Confidential Secretary in a Legal firm (Cicero Chambers) in Nsukka before he completed his tertiary education and has also worked as a Data Analyst in Waste, Environment, and Sanitation Unit in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme in Obollo-Affor, Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State. He was a member and Supervisor of African Development Solutions Institute (ADSI)’s research team for a work done for the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on “Telecoms Customer Satisfaction Survey” 2016. He is an Associate Member of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES), Graduate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), member of Partnership for Economic Programme (PEP), and Associate Research Fellow of the African Heritage Institution (AfriHeritage), Enugu, Nigeria. It is interesting to know that Nkalu Nelson is an Associate Research Fellow of the Center for Contemporary Economics and Allied Research in the Department of Economics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. A vibrant and diligent Nelson has an enormous penchant for overall success, academic excellence and contribution to scholarship. 

Nelson has a diversified and huge interest in Development Economics, Public Sector Economics, Environmental and Energy Economics, Financial and Monetary Economics, International Finance and Economics, and Econometrics as well as Applied Micro and Macroeconomics.
