Nduka Eleanya Kalu is a lecturer and Researcher at the department of Economics and Centre for Contemporary Economic and Allied Research, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is currently a Ph.D candidate in the same department, researching in Environmental/Energy and Climate Change issues. He completed B.Sc and M.Sc (Macroeconomics) in Economics at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2010 and 2014 respectively. It is worthy to note that he won the prestigious Tony & Awele Elumelu Foundation’s Excellence in Economics Award as the Best M.Sc Graduating Student in 2013/2014 academic session. He also bagged the CBN/NYSC Venture Prize Award in Katsina State in 2011/2012 batch B service year. He emerged as the Second Best Graduating Economics Student in the 2010 degree class. He attended Nkporo Comprehensive Secondary School, Nkporo, Ohafia L.G.A from 1997 to 2000, and Secondary Technical School, Afaraukwu, Umuahia from 2001 to 2003 respectively. He also attended Amurie Primary School, Nkporo from 1991 to 1996. Before his appointment at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, he worked as a Research Associate at the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA), Abuja. While at the centre, he participated actively in several research projects funded by reputable international organisations. His research interest is in Environmental/Energy and Climate Change Economics, Trade and Investment, Monetary Economics, Development Economics, Economics of Education, among others.
