Biography :

Anthony Ajah is a teaching staff of the Humanities Unit, School of General Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He studied Philosophy at the Bigard Memorial Seminary, Enugu (2002-2006), obtaining two degrees from two affiliate institutions: Bachelors in Philosophy (B.Phil.) from the Pontifical Urban University, Rome and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Philosophy, from University of Ibadan, Nigeria. His first degree dissertation was titled: “Sartre’s concept of Consciousness: Any relevance to the psychologically traumatized Africans?” He has Masters in Arts (M.A.) degree in Philosophy (M.A.) with distinction, from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (2008-2010). His Master’s dissertation (titled: “Habermas on Ideology and Social Change”) was a study in Philosophy of Development, with a theoretical leaning on Jürgen Habermas’ Critical Social Theory. He carried out his Doctoral research also at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (201-2014), finishing with distinction. His doctoral research (titled:“Paul Ricoeur on Creativity and Truth: A Discourse on Identity and Development Issues in Africa”)was on History of Contemporary Philosophy, with theoretical leaning on Paul Ricoeur’s ideas of Creativity and Truth, and stretching the implications of these same ideas to identity and development issues in Africa. He has attended a few international conferences and presented several paper in those and several other local conferences. He has also been an invited speaker to undergraduate students in many tertiary institutions.
