Dr Amaka Bridget Ikechukwu-Ilomuanya hails from Oko in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra state. She attended Anglican Girls’Secondary school, Onitsha where she obtained her WASC in 1982. She also attended University of Jos, Plateau State where she obtained First Class Honours, Upper Division in Counselling Psychology in 1995. Thereafter, she obtained Masters degree in 1999 and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Guidance and Counselling in 2012. The scholar specialized in Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counselling with particular interest in the adolescents. She has successfully written two books in counselling psychology.
Counsellor AmakaIkechukwu-Ilomuanya is a lecturer at the Department of Educational Foundations, Faculty of Education, University of Nigeria, Nsukka where she teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has successfully supervised many undergraduate and post graduate students’ projects.? She is presently the Departmental Ph.D. programme Coordinator. She is an active member of some departmental committees. The scholar has published many articles in both national and International Journals with impact factor. She has served as external Examiner to a college of education. She belongs to professional bodies amongst which are Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON) Nigerian Society for Educational Psychologists (NISEP) and? National Council of Educational Psychologist (NICEP) She loves God and enjoys reading, writing, and sewing. She is happily married with children.
