RELIGION, COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND THE
CHALLENGES OF INSECURITY IN THE 21 CENTURY
DATE: FEBRUARY 25 & 26, 2021
CONCEPT NOTE
The 21 century world is grappling with the issues of religion, COVID-19 and insecurity in different ways. Taken together, these issues have affected humanity negatively. The negative practice of religion, particularly, religious fanaticism, has become a global threat
since it has led to the spiral of terrorism in almost all over the world, not to mention the havoc that COVID-19 has wrecked on humanity since its outbreak in December of 2019.
These, in many ways, have created huge security challenges worldwide. In the context of Nigeria for example, insecurity has become a problem and keeps on worsening as days go by. This virtual conference therefore aims at bringing together scholars of different
disciplines all over the world, and Africa in particular, to think and offer critical academic discussions on the issues of Religion, COVID-19 and Insecurity in the 21 century.
Scholars are therefore called to submit their abstracts and full papers for the conference.
