Workshop on panel data analyses for researchers, academics, practitioners, postgraduate students

The Department of Economics, UNN organizes a training the trainers modeling workshop on panel data analyses for researchers, academics, practitioners, postgraduate students with research interests in development economics, agricultural/natural resource economics, environmental economics, energy economics, trade economics, health/sociology economics, public finance, financial and monetary economics etc.
The Workshop holds as follows:

Training on Panel Data Estimations
Panel data analyses have been used to study important economic problems in Nigeria and other developing countries. It is therefore important for researchers to be familiar with its nature and be in a position to deepen their
knowledge of it. This training aims at introducing participants to panel data analyses.
Training Objectives
At the end of the training, the participants should be able to:
1. Know when a panel data estimation is needed for an analysis
2. Explain the structure of static Panel Data Models
3. Explain the structure of dynamic Panel Data Models
4. Empirically apply panel data analyses using STATA
Structure of the Training
The training shall be for five days from 9am – 1pm & 2pm – 5pm each day. It shall involve lectures and
hands-on exercises. Participants shall receive materials to study before the training and will be encouraged to
share any questions on the materials during the training. Participants are expected to attend with their laptops.
