Biography :

Dr P-J Ezeh, a Fellow of Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain, and Honorary Fellow of the Pan-African Circle of Artists,  is a social anthropologist with the Department of Sociology & Anthropology, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, who was Coordinator of Social Sciences Unit of the School of General Studies of that University from 2011 to 2015. He has also been the Coordinator of Postgraduate Studies in the Departments of Sociology & Anthropology, and Social Work since 2010. He got elected recently as the President of the Pan-African Anthropological Association; the continent-level body for career anthropologists. Dr Ezeh studied the Orring of south-eastern Nigeria among whom he lived for his Master’s and PhD fieldwork, and also conducted participant observation among African immigrants in Austria. Ezeh has published widely and has a passion for qualitative fieldwork on which he has brought important innovations. With Professor Pat Okpoko he has published the book, Methods in qualitative research, which is now in its second edition. The journal, Qualitative Research by SAGE of London has published his innovations on ethnography as have the authors of the book, Space transformation and representation (Glassboro, New Jersey, 2012), and several Nigerian-based journals.

Specialist in social anthropology which I have taught full-time in the Department of Sociology & Anthropology of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, since 1999.
