SUBJECT:   Reopening of Portal for Registration of First Semester Courses for 2019/2020 Academic Session

This is to inform all undergraduate students that the portal will be opened on concessionary grounds to enable those who have not registered their first semester courses for the 2019/2020 academic session to do so. The portal will be open from Monday, January 25, 2021 to Monday, February 1, 2021 when course registration will end.

Students are to note that those who fail to register their courses within this window will not be allowed to take first semester examinations which will commence from Monday, February 22, 2021.

This is to inform the Staff, Students and the general public that Senate of the University of Nigeria at its 404^th (Emergency) Meeting held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 approved the resumption of academic activities for the remaining part of 2019/2020 session as follows:

• Postgraduate Students –           Monday, January 18, 2021
• Undergraduate Students –           Monday, January 25, 2021

The University Administration will ensure strict adherence to prescribed NCDC protocols for the safety of both staff and students of the University. Consequently, students are to note the following:

 

• All Students must wear face masks and carry hand sanitizers before they will be allowed access to hostels, classrooms and any office in the University;

 

• Students are expected to utilize the handwashing materials provided in designated places in the University to wash their hands properly as they gain entry and depart various places;

 

• Students must comply with social distancing rules;

 

• Students are advised to strictly observe hostel rules to avoid overcrowding in the hostels;

 

• Students are to use ICT tools such as official emails, WhatsApp, text messages and phone calls to avoid overcrowding;

 

• Infrared thermometers will be provided to check the temperature of students before entry into hostels and lecture halls. Students with temperature above tolerable levels or exhibit other symptoms of corona virus will be referred to the University’s medical facilities.

POST-UTME SCREENING UPDATE

 

1. As already published, the Post-UTME Screening Exercise of the University of Nigeria will commence on Monday, January 18, 2021 and run through Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the designated Venues in Nsukka Campus – Nnamdi Azikiwe Library and Centre for Distance end e-Learning.

 

2. All candidates are REMINDED that they MUST come with their face masks and hand sanitizers, as no candidate would be allowed into the Venues without these, in compliance with NCDC protocols.

 

3. The University would provide hostel accommodation for candidates who need such services at the rate of N2,000 per night, subject to a maximum of 2 nights per person. For further enquiries on Hostel Accommodation, candidates can contact the following GSM numbers:
