DISBURSEMENT OF FUNDS FOR TETFUND YEAR 2024 INSTITUTIONAL BASED RESEARCH (IBR) PROJECTS

  1. The under listed applicants (50 Nos.) whose research proposals were selected and recommended to TETFund for funding under Institution-Based Research (IBR) Intervention are hereby notified that their funds are ready for disbursement.

 

  1. Please note that the amount disbursed represent 60% first tranche of the total cost of the project. The second tranche payment of 40% will only be released when the Researcher must have published at least one article from the findings of the research in any referred Journal with impact factor of at least 3 (three) and above, evidence of which should be submitted to TETfund.

 

  1. TETFund should be acknowledged as the sponsor of the research in a footnote in the first page of a paper citing the research project no. (TETF/DR&D/CE/UNI/NSUKKA/BR/2024/VOL.I)

 

  1. The Lead Researcher to open an IBR Bank account into which the funds will be credited.

 

  1. Quarterly progress reports by the researchers be forwarded to the Fund for monitoring purposes. The quarterly reports should be regularly submitted until the entire intervention is completed and closed out.

 

  1. Upon completion of the Research Projects, you are expected to forward to TETFund a close out/completion report (including copies of the financial receipts obtained in respect of the Research Projects). You are also required to forward three (3 Nos.) bound copies of the Research Report for the Research Project within three (3) months of completion.

 

  1. You should please insert in the application for release of approved fund a statement of commitment to fully comply with the above stated conditions.

INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES RECOMMENDED  FOR PROVISIONAL ADMISSION FOR THE 2023/2024 ACADEMIC SESSION

Candidates listed above are required to adopt the following:

  • All candidates are STRICTLY advised to URGENTLY upload their O/Level results into JAMB Portal using a JAMB approved CBT Center, if they have not done so, and confirm that the upload has been effected in CAPS. Note that candidates’ admission cannot be processed until proper upload of O/Level results are done.
  • All candidates who were provisionally recommended for admission in courses other than the ones they applied to JAMB (Advert/Shopping or Supplementary) should, as a matter of urgency, access JAMB CAPS in an accredited CBT Center and do change of course from their original courses of application to JAMB to the courses recommended, print and drop their admission status from CAPS to the Admissions Office to enable them to be recommended in CAPS which is the only authentic way of gaining admission.
  • After complying with 1 to 2 above the candidates should subsequently do the followings:

 

  • Visit the JAMB Portal and accept your admission on CAPS by clicking “Accept Admission”. Candidates who fail to accept their admission on JAMB CAPS would not be issued JAMB Admission Letter and would be deemed as not admitted.
  1. Visit the University of Nigeria website (unn.edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.edu.ng), log in your JAMB Registration number to generate and download a Payment Invoice which contains a Remitta number, the invoice will enable you to make payment at any Commercial Bank, including UNN Microfinance Bank.
  • With the Payment Invoice, candidates are requested to pay Thirty Thousand Naira Only (N30, 000.00) acceptance fee. Ensure that the Invoice number is keyed in appropriately at the Bank and obtain a confirmation slip containing your Confirmation number and Invoice number.
  1. Visit the University of Nigeria website (unn.edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.edu.ng) again and login your JAMB Registration Number, the Confirmation Number and Invoice Number, then print the Admission slip and complete the Acceptance Form online.
  • Proceed with other fee payments and registration as indicated on the University of Nigeria website.
  1. Candidates should note that this admission is provisional.
  • If at any time in future, including final year, it is discovered that any candidate does not possess the minimum university and the faculty/departmental entry requirements for the course as prescribed by the Senate of the University, and published in JAMB Brochure, the offer of admission will be withdrawn.

 Youth Friendly Resource Centre Annual Lecture and Conference
We regret to announce that this event scheduled to hold on 17th and 18th April respectively has been postponed due to some unforeseen circumstances. The programmes of the Youth Friendly Resource Centre are usually students-centred.
However, the released Time table for the 2023/2024 Academic session indicated that students will be on campus from the 4th day of May. This has made it necessary to shift the programme designed to benefit both the undergraduate and graduate students.

The programmes are designed to enhance capacity-building and knowledge in Social Policy, promoting inclusion and contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND DURATION:

 

4-YEAR DEGREE PROGRAMMES

The University of Nigeria offers a 4-Year Sandwich Degree Programme for holders of NCE andNational Diploma.

 

Candidates seeking for admission into the 4-year degree programme must possess:

  1. a minimum of Merit in NCE in the relevant area from a recognized higher institution in Nigeria, in addition to a minimum of five (5) credit level passes at the O’ level, including Mathematics and English Language or its equivalent in not more than two sittings;

OR

  1. a minimum of merit in National Diploma in a recognized higher institution, in addition to the above-mentioned O’ level requirements in (1) above.

 

5-YEAR DEGREE SANDWICH PROGRAMME

The University also offers a 5-Year Sandwich Degree Programme for holders of WASCE/GCE/NECO, NABTEB, Teachers Grade II Certificate, NCE and National Diploma.

 

Candidates seeking for admission into the 5-year degree programme must possess the following:

  1. Pass in NCE, and a minimum of five (5)credits at O’ Level or its equivalent in not more than two sittings; or

 

  1. Five (5) credit passes at the SSCE O’ Level in not more than two (2) sittings, which must include Mathematics and English, or as may be required by the respective programmes.

 

METHOD OF APPLICATION

All candidates who wish to apply for the programmes listed above should do so through JAMB (State Office) and make the University of Nigeria, Nsukka their first choice institution. This is to enable JAMB capture details of the candidates, assign them registration numbers and make them available in JAMB CAPS for the University to be able to download their lists.

After the JAMB registration, candidate returns to the University portal/website, www.unn.edu.ng and generate “Sandwich Registration Invoice” and proceed to any commercial bank and pays the processing fee of N5,000.00 (five thousand naira only) for the 4-year programme and N10,000.00 (ten thousand naira only) for the 5-year programme. The processing fee is payable to the University’s Account via the Remita platform only.

 

After the payment, candidate returns to the University portal,click on Sandwich Registration and complete the Verification Form on-line; and thereafter prints out the completed Registration Form and submits it with academic credentials to the Sandwich and Evening Programmes Unit Office of the Registry Department.

 

Please, note that candidates that apply for the 5-Year Degree Programme will be required to write an aptitudetest in the University.

JOINT UNIVERSITIES PRELIMINARY EXAMINATIONS BOARD (JUPEB)

2023/2024 JUPEB ADMISSION

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme for the 2023/2024 academic session. The programme leads to the award of JUPEB certificate, which enables candidates to gain Direct Entry Admissions into various degree programmes in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and other JUPEB – affiliated Universities in Nigeria and abroad.

ELIGIBILITY: Eligible candidates must possess a minimum of 5 Credits at maximum of two sittings which include Mathematics and English Language and other relevant subjects to the candidates’ desired course of study in the University.

DURATION: The duration of the programme is a minimum of one academic session of two semesters.

The above subject combinations meet the requirements (as applicable) for admission into various courses in the Sciences, Social Sciences, Management Sciences and Arts in University of Nigeria, Nsukka and all JUPEB – affiliated Universities in Nigeriaand abroad.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES:

The applicant should pay the application fee of N20,000.00 through remita payment platform at any bank. He/she should generate a payment invoice which contains remita number. The invoice printout will enable him/her to make payment at the bank. (Please note that Bank charges apply)

 

The Summary of the procedures for the application is as follows:

  1. Visit unn.edu.ng
  2. Click on Generate Payment Invoice under JUPEB.
  3. Enter your telephone number and click on submit.
  4. Enter your Surname, First name, Middle name and click on submit.
  5. Print out the invoice and pay at the bank
  6. After making payments at the bank visit the portal (unnportal.unn.edu.ng)
  7. Click on fill Joint Universities Preliminary Admissions Board programme
  8. Enter the remita number and click on submit.
  9. Fill the form and attach your passport (colour passport photograph with white background).
  10. The passport photograph must be recent (not earlier than 3 months before the time of the application) and the size should not be more than 100KB.
  11. Complete the form and click on submit
  12. Print out the acknowledgment slip.

  • All candidates are required to register for 2024 JAMB Direct Entry at the appropriate time.
  • The forms must be filled and submitted online either immediately or within two weeks of accessing the website. No downloaded or printed copies of forms will be accepted.
