Sexual and Reproductive Health Research Group (Formerly Youth-friendly Reproductive Health Research Group)
Main Research Focus of the RG: This research group unanimously agreed to expand its scope of research, and this led to a little modification in the name. Currently, Sexual and Reproductive Health Research Group (SRHRG) aims at addressing all research areas related directly or indirectly to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) of every individual, young and old, physically/mentally challenged or not. The specific areas interests are:
- Sexual and reproductive health, rights, and services
- Maternal and child nutrition,
- Prevention and control of SRH diseases
- Prevention and control of Sexually Transmitted and Blood-Borne Infections (STBBI),
- Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WaSH),
- Sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV),
- Population studies, and
- Adolescent health.

- Amelia Ngozi Odo (Co-Ordinator) is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria. She is a citizen of Nigeria. She received her Ph.D. and Masters in Public Health Education, B.Sc in Health Education, and Diplomas in Public Health Nursing, Midwifery, and General Nursing. Dr. Amelia was a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Anthropology, Michigan State University-MSU (2019-2020). Her primary research interests are in sexual and reproductive health including maternal and child health, adolescent health, nutrition and public health, infectious diseases prevention and control, and gender issues. She has attended some national and international conferences/workshops and published some articles in reputable journals. - Evelyn Nwanebe Nwagu is a Lecturer in the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education, University of Nigeria Nsukka. Formerly known as Department of Health and Physical Education. She graduated with First Class Honours Degree in Health Education. She has a Ph.D and M.Ed in Public Health Education. She is also a Register Nurse Midwife. Her research interests include, disease prevention and health promotion. She has conducted many studies in this area and has published many research articles.

- Petra Obioma Nnamani is a Professor of Pharmaceutics and a highly motivated academic with many years’ experience at both Teaching and Research. She has published widely and attended many conferences both locally and internationally as well as attracted and managed grants both internationally and nationally. Notable among the grants is the star in global health grant from Grand Challenges Canada, an arm of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. With her experiences, she can guide, manage and offer advice on grants.

- Samuel Ifeanyi Chris DIBIA, (PhD) is a senior lecturer in the department of Human Kinetics and Health Education, University of Nigeria Nsukka. Samuel is a Public Health Educator and Researcher with research interests in public health education, school health education, waste management, substance abuse prevention, diabetes care, and climate change education. - Kenechukwu, Nwakego ANUGWOM is a senior lecturer in the Department of Social Work of the University of Nigeria and a senior research fellow in the Institute of Development Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She has a PhD in social gerontology (management and care of breast cancer in elderly women). Her current research interests are in gerontology, trauma, health, HIV/AIDS prevention, reproductive health of older women, migration and diapora studies amongst others. As a lincenced and registered professional, she also provides counselling services and has significant international experience in both practice and teaching of social work. Apart from a sole authored text on “Coping Strategies of Elderly Widows in Southeastern Nigeria” (2013, LAP; ISBN: 978-3659340147), she has a good number of publications in international academic journals on such themes as HIV/AIDS; Breast Cancer among the Elderly etc
