Our focus of the is to generate knowledge around issues sounding various factors that affect the processes of teaching and learning at all level of education. The issues include Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Pedagogy, Administration, Supervision, Curriculum Implementation, Instructional materials (Design and usage, Gender, ICT usage in teaching and learning, Special/Inclusive Education. We are also interested in knowledge dissemination in form of capacity building through workshops, seminars and Symposia.

Brief biography:

Prof. Usman is a Professor of Mathematics Education in Science Education Department and Associate Dean Faculty of Education, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He has parallel appointment with the Institute of Education of the same University where he functions as the Coordinator of Conference, Seminar and Research Publications. Prof. Usman has participated in many national and international training progarmmes for capacity building in teaching and learning of mathematics. In 1990/2000, Prof. Usman was a visiting researcher to North Carolina State University, Raleigh, (NC, USA), under the sponsorship of FULBRIGHT and Institute for International Education (IIE) New York. His research interest cut across the use of computers in mathematics instruction, effective methods and materials for teaching and learning of mathematics. His expertise includes- research design, curriculum design, proposal writing, research instrument development, data analysis and interpretation, and gender related issues. Prof. Usman is the Immediate Past National Secretary of Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MAN) and Deputy Editor in Chief of (ABACUS) the Journal of Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MAN. He was honored with Fellow of Mathematical Association of Nigeria (FMAN) in 2013. He has consulted for National Teachers’ Institute (NTI), Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), West African Examination Council (WAEC), and National Mathematical Centre (NMC) Abuja among others. He has published over 45 research papers in scholarly journals and has presented over 12 papers in scientific conferences.

Brief biography:

Ike Chunuwe Sarduana Ifelunni is a Professor of Counselling Education at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, was the Head of the Department of Educational Foundations(2010-2012) and the immediate past Dean of the Faculty of Education (2012-2014). He has parallel appointment with the Institute of Education of the same University where he functions as the Coordinator of Training, Workshop and Research. He obtained his professional training at the University of Nigeria, receiving a Bachelor of Education degree in 1988 with a first class honours and emerging the best graduating student in the Faculty, Master of Education in 1989 and a PhD in 1993. Professor Ifelunni has executed many funded research studies, among them are School and Home factors as Correlates of Nigeria Female Secondary School Students’ achievements in Mathematics funded by African Academy of Science, Kenya in 1995, Sexual Behaviours of adolescents in Delta and Rivers State funded by Nigerian Institute for Social and Economic Research in conjunction with the World Bank in 1998, Youth Restiveness and Ecological Management of the Niger Delta: Implications for Policy Implementation funded by African Rural Policy Analysis Network (ARPAN) in 2000,Ethnic Militia and Democratic Consolidation in Nigeria: A case study of the Niger Delta funded by Centre for Research Documentation, Kano in 2002 and Opportunities for Inclusive Education in the Primary and Junior Secondary Schools sponsored by Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC).   He has consulted for Oxfam GB Abuja on Oil Revenue Allocation and Utilization in the Niger Delta, MacArthur Foundation and Social Science Research Council of Nigeria on the Problems of Nigerian Universities. He has also consulted for UNICEF on Whole School Development Programme for over six years now. He has published over 60 research papers in scholarly journals and has presented over 20 papers in scientific conferences.

Prof. Nwoji is the current Director of Institute of Education University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She holds a parallel appointment with Department of Arts Education. He obtained his professional training at the University of Nigeria, receiving a Bachelor of Education degree in 1988, Master of Education in 1990 and a PhD in 1995. Prof Nwoji has participated in many national and international training progarmmes for capacity building in teaching and learning of mathematics. She has consulted for National Teachers’ Institute (NTI), Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), and Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ESUBEB). Prof Nwoji has written 2 books, contributed chapters into many books. She has published more than 50 articles in a reputable international and national journal. Prof. Nwoji is a member of many reputable professional associations including- African Studies Association ASA, USA, Gender Association of Science and technology GASAT, USA and NAEMT (Media Association) among others. She is a fellow of Nigerian Academy of Education.

Dr Ncheke is Lecturer in the Department of Educational Foundation of University of Nigeria. He has the following qualifications B. Ed (Guidance and counselling), M.Ed (Guidance and counselling), and Ph.D (Guidance and counselling) all form University of Nigeria. Dr Ncheke has attended many local and national conferences and workshops. He has 10 journal article published in reputable journals to his credit. Uzodinma Uche (Mrs.) is a Research Fellow in the Institute of Education. She has the following qualifications B.A Philosophy, PGDE Education, M.Ed Childhood Education, Ph.D In-View. Uzodinma Uche has published articles in Journals and contributed chapters in books and attended many workshops in Education. Also she serves as member in different committees in the Institute of Education and Faculty of Education, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Uzodinma Uche is currently the secretary of World Organization for Early Childhood Education (OMEP) Enugu Chapter, in Nigeria. She also belongs to many other professional associations.
