List and brief profiles of members:

  • Franca Obiageli Okechukwu was born at Agulu in Ana-ocha LGA of Anambra State, Nigeria on 4th April, 1968. She began her academic pursuit in 1974 at Ezeanyanwu Primary school Agulu in Anambra state, Nigeria. In the year 1981, she started her secondary education at Queen of the Rosary secondary school, Nsukka in Enugu state, Nigeria. Franca started her University education in the year 1988 at University of Nigeria, Nsukka Nigeria where she also obtained her second and third degree in the year 2014 in the field of Home Economics (Child Development). Franca Obiageli Okechukwu is a Senior lecturer of Child Development and Family Studies and currently the coordinator Child Development Laboratory of the Department Home Science and Management. She has served in different capacities as an academia and administration including: Coordination of Child Development laboratory and related courses, Development of Home Science post graduate curriculum, serving in different Faculty and Departmental committees. She teaches and supervises undergraduate as well as postgraduate students.  She is a member of the monitoring team for National Examinations Council (NECO) in Nigeria from 2008 to date. She is also a facilitator in the National Open University of Nigeria from 2017. In the year 2019 Family and Society Research Group was registered in the University to carry out a National study on “Impact of Cognitive Skill Intervention PROGRAMME on the Reading and Writing Abilities of Dyslexic Primary School Children in Nigeria” and Franca  was the Principal Researcher for the group. In the year 2022 she and most members of the research group formed an academic Association named: Association for Family and Society Scientists and she is the founding president of the Association. The association plans and hosts annual academic conference and publishes two yearly issues in her peer reviewed journal publications. Franca has published a good number of researched journal articles in both international and national recognized journals.

  • Philip Chukwuemeka Mefoh is a Professor of Experimental Psychology in the Department of Psychology, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. His research interest lies in the area of cognitive processes and general/indigenous psychology. Professor Philip C. Mefoh received the Ph.D Degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of Nigeria Nsukka in 2009. His PhD thesis won both the Faculty Prize and the Vice Chancellor’s Postgraduate Prize for the overall best PhD thesis in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka for 2008/2009 academic session.   • Dr Nnubia Uju Ifeoma was born on 29thJune 1976 to Rev. Canon and Mrs E.I Alutu. She hails from UruaguNnewi in Nnewi North L.G.A of Anambra State. She obtained her primary education from Central School Nsukka, Central School and Development Primary School Nsugbe. She had secondary education from Holy Innocents’ Juniorate Convent Nkpor, Anambra State. She got her Nigeria Certificate in Education from Anambra State College of Education now NwaforOrizu College of Education Nsugbe, where she also obtained her first degree. She later had her Master’s Degree at the University of Nigeria Nsukka. She has taught in several schools in Lagos State including Caleb International College, Kembos College and Lagos Anglican Girls Grammar School, before being appointed as an assistant lecturer at the University of Nigeria Nsukka in 2017. She is currently a PhD holder and Lecturer 1 in the Department of Home Science and Management in the area of Family and Child Studies.

  • Ogba, Kalu Timothy Uyor, is a PhD (Social Psychology) holder and lecturer at the Psychology Department, University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he has taught a number of courses. He obtained his first, second and third degrees from Psychology department, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He belongs to a number of professional, religious and social organizations. To his credit are numbers of publications that mainly centered on personality, home safety, suicide, health & wellbeing and other nagging societal issues.

  • Ezinne Nwauzoije Judith (Nee Nnodim) is an Assistant Lecturer of Family and Child Studies in the department of Home Science and Management, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Nigeria Nsukka. She obtained her B.Sc and M.Sc from the aforementioned department and institution. She is passionate about children and thus her research is inclined to children related topics such as childhood literacy, curriculum development, learning disabilities, development of intervention programs for children with learning disability, teacher-pupil relationship, role of classroom and home environment in child development, school readiness, family-child relationship amongst others. She has attended several conferences both national and international and has published over 15 articles in both national and high impact factor journals.

  • Umennuihe Chidiogo Lovelyn was born on 7th October 1994 to Ven. F. O. and Mrs F. N. Ezeonyeche. She hails from Uga in Aguata L.G.A of Anambra State. She obtained her First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) from Central School, Umuoji, Anambra state. Senior School Certificate was obtained from St. John of God Secondary School, Awka, Anambra state. She got her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka Enugu state. She went on to serve as a secondary school teacher in Danja L.G.A of Katsina state during the one year compulsory National Youth Service which ended in April, 2017. She also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Kaduna state. This was followed by her appointment as a graduate assistant in the Department of Home Science and management, University of Nigeria, Nsukka and she went on to obtain a Master of Science degree in the area of Family and Child Studies from the same department.

  • Nwobi Chibundo Adaobi was born on 6th of December, 1992 to Prof. T. M. Okonkwo and Dr. Mrs. S. C. Okonkwo. She is a native of Etiti-Awovu, Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka L. G. A. of Anambra State. She obtained her primary and secondary education from University Primary School, Nsukka and University of Nigeria Secondary School, Nsukka respectively. In 2013, she was awarded the Bachelor’s degree in Home Science, from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Subsequently in 2021, she obtained her Master’s degree in Home science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Mrs. Nwobi has served as a teacher at Gleaming Moon Classic, Umuahia, Abia State in 2012 and as a Clerical Officer in University of Calabar, Cross-River state from 2014-2015, before being appointed as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2016. Currently, she is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Home Science and Management, in the same institution. In addition, she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the area of Family Resource Management in the Department of Home Science and Management, U. N. N.

  • Dr Chinenye Joseph Aliche is a clinical psychologist, and a psychology lecturer in the department of psychology, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria. He is also a staff on paroral appointment at the Social Science Unit, School of General Studies of the same institution where he teaches Peace and Conflict Studies. He had his Doctorate Degree recently in the area of clinical psychology, and his research interest is on trauma, positive psychology and wellbeing. He has over 15 journal articles published in many reputable international journals including Aging and Mental Health, International Journal of Stress and Health, Psychology, Health and Medicine, International Journal of Nordic Psychology, International Journal of Loss and Trauma, South African Journal of Psychology, Journal of Religion and Health among many others.

  • OGBONNAYA, Ezeda Kalu was born on 5th August, 1970 in Bamenda, Cameroun. She is a lecturer 2 in the department of Home Economics and Hospitality Management Education, Faculty of Vocational and Technical Education, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She obtained her NCE from federal College of Education, Obudu. She obtained her B.Sc. Home Economics, M.Ed. Home Economics (Child Care and Development Education) and Ph.D. Home Economics (Child care) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She has attended a good number of local and international conferences and has numerous publications to her credit. She is an active member of professional organization such as Home Economics Research Association of Nigeria, Association for Family and Society Scientists and International Federation of Home Economists among others.
