List and brief profiles of members:
Professor G. C. E. Mbah: He had his first and second degrees from the University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State Nigeria in the years 1985 and 1988 respectively specializing in Applied Mathematics. He later obtained his Ph.D in Applied Mathematics (Biomathematics and Cardiovascular Flow Dynamics ) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka under the supervision of Professor John. C. Amazigo in the year 1998. He has been a lecturer in many universities but has been in University of Nigeria Nsukka since 1998. Currently he has successfully completed supervision of 25 Ph. D and 82 M.Sc students in Applied Mathematics most especially in Biomathematics and Fluid Dynamics. He is still supervising about 30 Ph.D and 8 M.Sc students in Applied Mathematics (Biomathematics, Fluid Dynamics and Ecology) at UNN, ESUT and UniZik . He has successfully published over 115 journal articles in very reputable journals and over 8 text books in Mathematics at both Tertiary/University and Secondary Levels. One of his new books in Applied Mathematics covering the areas of Dynamics of particles and rigid body systems, Mechanics, Vectors and their applications to real life system was accepted and currently undergoing mass production by the TETFund, Nigeria. He was promoted full Professor of the University of Nigeria in the year 2009.
Assoc. Professor Cornelius Obiora Collins: Had his first (First Class Honours) and second degrees from the university of Nigeria, Nsukka in the years 2006 and 2009 respectively specializing in Applied Mathematics. He later obtained his Ph.D from South Africa at the University on KwaZulu-Natal in 2014 also specializing in Applied Mathematics . He had his Postdoctoral Training at the Durban University of Technology in South Africa in the years 2014 – 2018. He has extensively published in highly rated journals with well over 26 articles in Biomathematics models in epidemiology, Ecology, and conventional Mathematical Models. He was promoted Associate Professor in 2021.
Chukwuma Christopher Asogwa: He had his first (B.Sc), second (M.Sc) and third (Ph.D) degrees from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in the years 1991, 2007 and 2018 respectively. He specialized in Applied Mathematics and specifically in the area of Biomathematics. He was supervised at the M.Sc and Ph.D. levels by Professor GCE Mbah. Dr. C. C. Asogwa was promoted Lecturer I in the year 2018.
Chukwudi Okoye: He had his first (B.Sc), second (M.Sc) and third (Ph.D) degrees from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in the years 2005, 2012 and 2020 respectively specializing also in Mathematical Modelling. He was equally supervised at his M.Sc and Ph.D. levels by Professor G. C. E. Mbah. He is currently a Lecturer I in the Department of Mathematics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Ifeanyi Sunday Onah: He graduated B. Sc. (Ed) (first Class Honours) from the department of Science Education specializing in Education Mathematics, in the year 2009 at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He later enrolled and graduated M.Sc and Ph. D Applied Mathematics ( Epidemiological Modelling) at the same University of Nigeria, Nsukka in the years 2015 and 2021respectively. He was supervised at these later two levels of education by Professor G. C. E. Mbah. He is currently undergoing another Ph.D degree training in Fluid Dynamics at the University of Glasgow, UK. Dr. Onah S. I has published 14 articles in very high impact factor journals.
Note: All our Ph.D students are usually part of the research team most especially when handling particular research projects.
