1. Visit the University of Nigeria website (unn.edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.edu.ng), log in your JAMB Registration number to generate and download a Payment Invoice which contains a Remitta number, the invoice will enable you to make payment at any Commercial Bank.
2. With the Payment Invoice, the candidate is requested to pay Two Thousand five hundred Naira Only (N2,500.00) application fee. Ensure that the Invoice number is keyed in appropriately at the Bank and obtain a confirmation slip containing your Confirmation number and Invoice Number.
3. Visit the University of Nigeria website (unn.edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.edu.ng) again and login your JAMB Registration Number, the Confirmation Number and Invoice Number, then access and complete the University of Nigeria 2016/2017 Direct Entry form online at unnportal.edu.ng.
4. Applications open on Monday 3^rd October and closes on Monday 17^th October 2016.
5. Candidates must possess the University Minimum/Departmental Entry Requirement for the courses applied for.

The IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Awards Program is an intensely competitive worldwide program, which honors exceptional Ph.D. students who have an interest in solving problems that are important to IBM and fundamental to innovation in many academic disciplines and areas of study. This includes pioneering work in: cognitive computing and augmented intelligence; quantum computing; blockchain; data-centric systems; advanced analytics; security; radical cloud innovation; next-generation silicon (and beyond); and brain-inspired devices and infrastructure.

The academic disciplines and areas of study include: computer science and engineering, electrical and mechanical engineering, physical sciences (including chemistry, material sciences, and physics), mathematical sciences (including big data analytics, operations research, and optimization), public sector and business sciences (including urban policy and analytics, social technologies, learning systems and cognitive computing), Service Science, Management, and Engineering (SSME), and industry solutions (healthcare, life sciences, education, energy & environment, retail and financial services). Award recipients will be finalized in early March, 2017 followed by emails to all participants. All supporting documents for the fellowship, such as student’s resume, and endorsement by the department head as well as the nominator’s recommendation must be included in the nomination form. We ask that each department submit no more than two new nominations (in addition to any existing fellowship nominations to compete for a renewal). In cases of more than one nomination for a fellowship (including competing renewal nominations), the department head’s endorsement must include an indication of the relative merits of all the candidates and the department’s prioritization of these candidates. Students from Europe and Russia may be nominated in their first year of study in their doctoral program. Outside of Europe and Russia students must have completed at least one year of study in their doctoral program at the time of their nomination. Students from U.S. embargoed countries are not eligible for the program.

IBM Ph.D. Fellowships are awarded worldwide. IBM Ph.D. Fellows are awarded a stipend for the academic year 2017-2018. Fellowships vary by country/geographic area and the student will be informed at the time of the award what the value is for their country/geographic area. All IBM Ph.D. Fellows are matched with an IBM Mentor according to their technical interests, and they are strongly encouraged to participate in an internship at least once while completing their studies. While students may accept other supplemental fellowships, to be eligible for the IBM Ph.D. Fellowship they may not accept a major award in addition to the IBM Ph.D. Fellowship. Students in Europe and Russia may accept government scholarships and remain eligible for the IBM Ph.D. Fellowship.

This is to inform all University of Nigeria, Nsukka campus students that the Hostel allocation process is still on-going and rooms are being allotted on a First Come, First served basis.
To this end, the final opening of hostels in Nsukka campus will be on Tuesday 4th October, 2016 by 10am prompt until all the bed spaces are exhausted.
This will be the final opening as we have limited spaces available.
The process flow is highlighted below:
1.    Log in to the UNN Portal- www.unnportal.unn.edu.ng
2.    Enter your username and password (Your username is your Registration Number for old students and JAMB registration number for new students).
3.    Click on Hostel Allocation.
4.    Click on Apply for Bed space
5.    Click on Apply.
6.    Print the Invoice carrying your RRR number and proceed to the bank or make payment using your ATM card.
7.    Return to the portal and Click on Hostel Allocation.
8.    Click on pay for your hostel and enter your Remita Retrieval Reference number.
9.    Submit and print Receipt.
