British Broadcasting Corporation Team Visits UNN
This is to inform all staff and students of University of Nigeria, Nsukka that a team from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) would be visiting the University of Nigeria, Nsukka on the 31st and 1st of February, 2017.
Highlight of Their Visit
- They would be conducting a two days workshop for students in ICT, Mass Communication, Linguistics and alumni of these departments.
- They would be talking to the students and alumni about job opportunities and internship that would open up as they set up the proposed BBC Igbo services alongside BBC Yoruba and BBC Pidgin.
Students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to better equip themselves for the world of work. This corroboration will further open doors to jobs and internship positions for our students and alumni.
Any student who wishes to be a part of this epoch making event must meet the following criteria:
- Paid all school fees till date.
- Registered all courses online till date.
- Have a functional UNN email address.
- Possess a UNN ID card or have been captured for biometrics.

PROCUREMENT OF SCHOOL OF GENERAL STUDIES HANDBOOK
This is to inform you that the School of General Studies (SGS) Handbook – a very necessary guide on the General Studies Programme in the University of Nigeria – is ready for procurement.
To get your copy, quickly go through the following process:
- Visit the University Portal [www.unnportal.edu.ng], and log into your profile page.
- Click on ‘Handbook’.
- Click on ‘Generate Handbook’.
- Click on ‘Generate/Reprint invoice’.
- Visit any bank or pay with your ATM, the sum of NGN1,500 for the Handbook. [Please note that this amount does not include the bank service charge that you will need to pay at the bank when you go to make your NGN1,500 payment at the bank].
- Return to your profile page on the University Portal to complete the payment for the Handbook, and print your receipt.
Special Notes:
- The Portal will be closed for payments on Friday, March 03, 2017.
- First set of collection of the Handbook will be done according to Faculties, as follows:

Postgraduate Online Registration Process For The 2016/2017
POSTGRADUATE ONLINE REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR THE 2016/2017
Candidates who are admitted into postgraduate programmes for 2016/2017 academic session should begin to register online immediately. Registrations for all students end on 17 February, 2017. Registering students should observe the following registration process.
- Visit the url: http://unnportal.unn.edu.ng.
- Click on POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS.
- CLICK ON POSTGRADUATE PORTAL.
- By the right hand side, click on “CLICK HERE TO GET LOGIN DETAILS.”
- If new student, click on NEW STUDENTS’ button. If an old student, then click on RETURNING STUDENT’S button.
- In the registration number box, enter your application number in full e.g. UNN/PG/2016p-18/000039
- Click SUBMIT to get login details i.e, username and password which is your application number.
- Click on STUDENT LOGIN to go back to the login page.
- In the username and password boxes enter your application number in full and click on LOGIN, which opens your account.
- Click on PROFILE and then CHANGE PASSWORD to change your default password.
- Click on PROFILE and the BIO-DATA to complete your profile.
- Click on ACCEPTANCE and then GENERATE PG ACCEPTANCE INVOICE to generate acceptance fee payment invoice.
- Proceed to the bank to make the payment and obtain a bank print out and a bank teller. After the payment, click on ACCEPTANCE and then PG-ACCEPTANCE to printout your Provisional Admission Letter.
- Click on SCHOOL FEES and then GENERATE PG SCHOOL FEES INVOICE to generate PG school fees payment invoice.
- Proceed to the bank to make the payment and obtain a bank print out and a bank teller.
- After the payment in the bank, click on SCHOOL FEES and then PG SCHOOL FEES in your account to obtain online school fees receipt.
- Then click on GET SCHOOL REG. NO. To get registration number e.g PG/MSC/16/73789.
- Then printout your PARTICULARS Of Admission and YOUR PROFILE and submit together with your admission letter to room 115.
- Proceed to room 202 at Postgraduate school for school fees and acceptance fee payment verification.
- Then, proceed to Room 107 at PG school for your original school fees and acceptance fee receipts.
- Visit Room 115 at PG school with your original certificates for verification.
- Postgraduate students interested in hostel accommodation should generate hostel payment invoice and pay in the bank

The University is happy to announce the introduction of iVerification.
Verification of Transcripts and Certificates issued by the University is now easier, faster and more efficient.
This can be located at https://alumni.unn.edu.ng/iverification
iVerification is a digital platform that verifies documents of alumni to ascertain if they actually originated from the University of Nigeria. iVerification validates documents like certificate, transcript / date of birth, UNN entry documents (documents presented by alumni to the University at the time of admission).
Verification bodies like World Education Services (WES), corporate bodies like banks, companies, local and international employers and agencies who would need to verify the authenticity of documents provided by alumni of the University can now request for verification of these documents at their convenience.

The University of Nigeria in her bid to provide all necessary support to her alumni has provided a digital platform for Proof of English proficiency request application.
This service is available athttps://alumni.unn.edu.ng/itranscript.
Logon to the above link to request for proof of English proficiency with options of attaching it to an existing transcript request or request as a stand-alone document.
N/B: Transcript labels can now be attached during transcript application. Alumni whose prospective institutions require transcript label to be sent alongside the transcript can now upload transcript label which will be attached to their transcripts as their transcripts are dispatched to nominated destinations.

Olam International Prize for Innovation In food Security
Global agri-business Olam International and agri-science foundation Agropolis Fondation are calling for applications from scientific research projects which could revolutionise the agricultural industry, applications welcomed from:
· Innovative scientific research projects with achieved or potential impact on the availability, affordability, accessibility and adequacy of food
· Research projects in nutrition science, plant science, soil science, agricultural sciences or other field of scientific research impacting food security
· Academic or research institutions, civil society organisations and the private sector
· Research on any part of agricultural supply chains, based anywhere in the world.
The winner will receive US$50,000 unrestricted funding to support the research project’s further development. The Olam Prize will be judged and awarded by an independent panel of experts in conjunction with the Agropolis Louis Malassis International Scientific Prizes for Agriculture and Food.
