UNN KEYS INTO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL 13 BY INTRODUCING E-MOBILITY FOR CAMPUS SHUTTLE

The UNN EV Centre sets the pace for Industry-Academia partnership in the collaboration with Revive Earth Limited to provide electric shuttle bus for Campus Shuttle. The collaboration originated from the initiative of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) in 2019, to provide a platform and enabling condition for research and development for local development and manufacture of electric vehicles/components in Nigeria, starting with selected three Universities of which UNN is one. The NADDC initiative gave birth to the popular Lion Ozumba 551 EV project (online) in 2019, which gave birth to Revive Earth Limited, a private Start-Up owned by Chukwuemeka Eze, one of the team members for the Lion Ozumba 551 project as a final year student then, but now a 2019 graduate of Electrical Engineering UNN.  The NADDC has further built and commissioned an electric vehicle charging station in 2022, situated at Eni-Njoku Street by Abuja in UNN.  The UNN EV Centre is currently collaborating with Revive Earth in building and deploying electric vehicles as well as providing commercial charging of electric vehicles, tricycles and bikes. We have EV bus stations/routes  currently at Green House/Nru, Odim Gate and Franco Routes, as well as chatter. Watch out !!!
