CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Introduction
African economies are currently implementing two Agendas aimed at achieving inclusive and sustainable development on the continent. The first is the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (also known as the 2030 Agenda), while the second is the African Union’s Agenda 2063. However, various progress reports, such as the 2024 Africa Sustainable Development Report of the United Nations Development Programme, indicate that Africa is not yet on track towards achieving these Agendas. Hence, this Conference aims at understanding the critical issues militating against the attainment of inclusive and sustainable development in Africa and offering policy recommendations to facilitate the attainment of these Agendas. Academics, researchers, civil society organizations, practitioners and postgraduate students are now invited to submit policy-relevant abstracts for inclusion in any of the sub-themes of the Conference.

Conference Sub-themes:
In line with the theme of the conference, the sub-themes include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Agriculture, food security and sustainable development

• Climate change, the environment and sustainable development

• Economic diversification, inclusive growth and sustainable development

• Human capital development, youth development, migration and sustainable development

• Energy, infrastructure, SME development, industrial development, and sustainable development

• Finance, financial sector development, public expenditure management and sustainable development

• Gender, inequality, poverty, social inclusion and sustainable development

• Governance institutions, law enforcement, insecurity, political instability and sustainable development

• Science, technology, and sustainable development

• Tourism, sports, hospitality management, and sustainable development
