PLANT TISSUE CULTURE AND MICROPROPAGATION GROUP

Focus: Micropropagation for mass production of selected underutilized forest species with high nutritional and medicinal properties for domestication and improvement to boost food security; identification, characterization and selection of ornamental plant species suited for specific soil types and their mass propagation for environmental stability and aesthetics; and work out suitable protocols for ex situ germplasm conservation of threatened economically important plant species.
