SUBJECT: NOTICE TO ALL STUDENTS
This is to inform all students attending lectures within the School of General Studies (SGS), University of Nigeria, Nsukka, that strict adherence to appropriate conduct and dress code as stipulated in the Students’ Code of Conduct is expected within lecture halls, theatres, and all SGS facilities.
Students are strongly advised to dress decently and responsibly at all times. The following forms of dressing and appearance are considered inappropriate within the academic environment and are therefore not allowed:
- Mini skirts, torn jeans, shorts, or any outfit that exposes sensitive parts of the body
- Multiple earrings or excessive body piercings, including nose and ankle rings
- Unconventional, distracting, or multi-coloured hairstyles considered unsuitable for a formal academic setting
Students are also reminded to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in all SGS lecture spaces. In particular:
- Eating is not permitted inside lecture theatres and classrooms
- Noise-making is strictly prohibited during lectures
- All waste must be properly disposed of using the waste bins provided within the premises
Kindly note that security personnel have been deployed across SGS facilities to ensure strict compliance with these directives.
The School emphasizes that these guidelines are intended to promote discipline, mutual respect, and a conducive learning environment for all students.
