SUBJECT: NIGERIAN TERTIARY EDUCATION RANKING ADVISORY COMMITTEE (NITERAC): COMPLETION OF ONLINE GOOGLE FORM FOR RANKING OF UNIVERSITIES IN NIGERIA

 

The Nigerian Tertiary Education Ranking Advisory Committee (NiTERAC) was established by the Honourable Minister of Education to succeed the Nigerian Universities Ranking Advisory Committee (NURAC). The NiTERAC has been mandated to rank Nigerian Tertiary Education Institutions using twenty-two (22) ranking indicators, among which is Google Scholar citations of academic staff.

 

Consequently, a Google form (https://forms.gle/drkFKRKhyz8gJWi97) has been created by the NiTERAC to harvest the Google Scholar indices of ALL ACADEMIC STAFF of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. The Google Scholar indices needed include:

 

  • Web address of Google Scholar profile
  • All Google Scholar citations
  • All h-index
  • All i10-index
  • Citations since 2021
  • h-index since 2021
  • i10-index since 2021

 

From the above listed indices, an academic staff MUST have a Google Scholar profile before he/she can complete the online Google form (https://forms.gle/drkFKRKhyz8gJWi97). The academic staff should also be a full-time staff of the University, whether available or on any form of Leave.

 

The Vice-Chancellor has directed that ALL ACADEMIC STAFF of the University must as a matter of urgency, complete the online Google form (https://forms.gle/drkFKRKhyz8gJWi97) before the deadline of 6:00 pm on Friday, 2nd October 2026 given by the NiTERAC. This is to ensure that the University maintains its position as one of the top universities in Nigeria.

 

Recall that the Vice-Chancellor had earlier through a memo from the Director Academic Planning dated 6th October 2025 directed all academic staff of the University to register with Google Scholar, ResearchGate and Scopus. In compliance with this directive, ALL academic staff who have not registered with Google Scholar should as a matter of urgency. register immediately to be able to harvest the needed Google Scholar data and complete the online Google form (https://forms.gle/drkFKRKhyz8gJWi97) from the NiTERAC before the deadline of 6:00 pm on Friday, 2nd October 2026.

 

Deans of Faculty, Directors of Institute/Centre and Heads of Department are kindly requested to give this memo the widest publicity possible to ensure that ALL their ACADEMIC STAFF comply with this directive within the stipulated deadline of 6:00 pm on Friday, 2nd October 2026.

 

NOTE: The Google form (https://forms.gle/drkFKRKhyz8gJWi97) will automatically stop taking entries by 6:00 pm on Friday, 2nd October 2026.

 

Deans of Faculty, Directors of Institute and Heads of Department should make the report of the compliance to this Vice-Chancellor’s directive available to the Director, Academic Planning on Wednesday, 7th October 2026 for onward transmission to the Vice-Chancellor for his consideration and further action.
