MEMO TO THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY

INSTALLATION OF PREPAID METERS IN RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS IN THE UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA, NSUKKA CAMPUS

The Management of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka wishes to notify all the occupants of staff quarters in Nsukka Campus of the University that the implementation of prepaid meter will commence from 1^st October, 2021.

In order to ensure equity, the Bursar has been directed to communicate IPPIS in writing to stop deduction of electricity bills from staff salary with effect from 1^st October, 2021.

Token to recharge your prepaid meters can be purchased at UNN Consult Office during working hours (8am to 4pm).

Occupants of staff quarters are to adhere strictly to the following rules:

1. Do not bypass meters

2. Do not tamper with meters

3. Boy’s quarters that are not connected to the electricity in the main building will be regarded as illegal connection.

4. However, occupants of staff quarters who for any reason want to separate their boy’s quarters from the main building can do so by purchasing and installing a prepaid meter in the boy’s quarters through UNN Consult.

5. All complaints on the Meters ONLY should be channeled to UNN Consult in writing.

Defaulters of the above rules will:

1. be made to pay a fine of N50,000.00 for first time offenders/defaulters, and

2. face stiffer penalties after repeat of offence, as may be approved by Management.
