A Brief Biography:
Smart Uchegbu grew up with his mates and had his primary education at Methodist Primary School Agbani Road, Enugu. He proceeded to Union Secondary School Awkunanaw, Enugu. He obtained first degree in Computer Science from Grambling State University, Louisiana, USA. In 1984, he attended University of Houston, Texas, USA where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management. Smart joined the University of Nigeria in February, 1987 as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning. He later took another Masters Degree and then Ph.D in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning of the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus. His academic output prompted his professorial elevation to a Reader (an Associate Professor in 2004) and a Professor in 2009 at the University of Nigeria.
Smart Uchegbu’s extensive academic contributions include three mainline books; five other mainline books with his handwritings featured in some chapters; not less than twenty articles published in various journals, both local and international; and more than twenty conference papers, which have been published and cited locally and internationally.
