ABSTRACT:
Membrane-bound nicotinamide nucleotide transhydrogenase (EC 1.6.1.1) activity was detected in submitochondrial particles (SMP) prepared from Fasciola gigantica mitochondria.2.2. Both non-energy-linked and respiratory energy-linked transhydrogenase activities were detected.3.3. The energy-linked process was inhibited by 2,4-dinitrophenol and ATP.4.4. The energy-linked transhydrogenase activity was only slightly higher in the presence of succinate and absence of KCN than in the absence of succinate and presence of KCN. NADH oxidase and NADH-fumarate oxidoreductase activities of the SMP were inhibited 40–60% by 100 μM rotenone.
