 Brief Biography
Prof. Sam Onuigbo is a Professor of English and Literary Studies. His early research interest is in the area of English as a second language with specialization in Phonetics and Phonology as well as Pragmatics. He teaches undergraduate courses and supervises Ph.D students in the area of English Language Studies. He started his teaching career in the University of Ife (Obafemi Awolowo University) but later transferred his services to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he is till date. He has served as Head of the Department of English and Literary Studies, Associate Dean of Arts and Director, Institute of African Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. His research interest is mainly in the area of Phonetics and Phonology, Pragmatics and Morphology of English. He has written many books and published many papers in International Journals. His current research interest is in the Area of African Studies with special concern for African history, culture and tradition.
