Statement of Intent:
All the members are based in the Department of Marketing. The name of the group is based on the overreaching need of entrepreneurs for Nigerian-based research articulate issues in context. The group membership comprises of both senior and junior lecturers and is motivated by the need to mentor junior lecturers and, in the process, widen the scope of the senior lecturers.
There are many topical areas of marketing in this country which have been glossed over at macro levels of research which are crying for attention at the micro level. This is why this group is focussing generally on the marketing needs of entrepreneurs in Nigeria encapsulated in the activities of small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) as well as multinational firms’ (MNCs) issues which impinge on these development agents – small businesses.
The investigations will spill into marketing concept application in firms, issues surrounding customers’ perception of made-in-Nigeria goods which had affected the development and growth of manufacturing firms in this nation. Food marketing, political marketing, integrated marketing communication and public relations(PR) issues will be addressed too.

Focus:
Our major focus will be on evidence-based researches on the application of marketing principles in combating social causes like drug abuse, human trafficking, kidnapping and environmental abuse, corruption, terrorism, etc. Equally of interest is mainstreaming marketing as a sustainable development tool.
