He obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (Air conditioning & Refrigeration Engineering Technology), with Second Class honours (Upper Division) in 2004 and Master of Engineering (Energy & Power Technology) in 2010 both in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, (FUTO) Imo State and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State respectively. He is currently a Research Fellow (II) at the National Centre for Energy Research and Development, UNN, a position he has held since April, 2010. He also lectures in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. At present, he is a Ph.D student in the Mechanical Engineering Department, University of Nigeria Nsukka, working on Solar Sorption Refrigeration.
Mr. Akubue’s research interest is in Renewable Energy Technologies (wind and Solar), Energy and Exergy, Thermodynamics, Thermal Energy Storage and Heat & Mass transfer. He has attended a number of workshops/conferences and training locally on renewable and alternative energy applications and has co-authored eleven (11) research publications in both reputable journals and conferences. He is a member of the Solar Energy Society of Nigeria (MSESN).
