Anthonia Ifeyinwa Achike is a Professor of Agricultural Economics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Also, a global/Adjunct faculty member of the Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa (Trapca), Arusha- Tanzania and currently on a European Union (EU) funded Intra Africa academic exchange programme in Mekelle University Ethiopia, tenable till April, 2018. She holds a PhD degree in Agricultural Economics, specializing in Agricultural Finance and Project Analysis. She has attended several training courses on quantitative & qualitative analysis, gender, poverty, policy, time management, leadership and other development issues organized by different institutions. For example, she has been trained at the CODESRIA Gender Institute, Dakar – Senegal; and the Social Science Academy of Nigeria Gender Institute. She was also trained on time series econometrics and Game theory by the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), poverty mapping by the Poverty and Economic Policy (PEP) - Community Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Research Network, in Manila Philippines, leadership by Leadbold International and, time management by Greendale Study Centre – a project of the National Association for Women Advancement (NAWA). She has participated as a consultant and trainer in many Gender evaluations, mainstreaming and training activities at both national and international levels. She has also conducted many baseline, evaluation, benchmarking and impact studies for various national and international organizations.

Professor Achike has served as the Director of the African Climate Change Adaptation Initiative, University of Nigeria Nsukka (ACCAI-UNN), the coordinator of the Transdisciplinary training for resource efficiency in climate change adaptation in Africa (TreccAfrica) of University of Nigeria Nsukka, the coordinator of the climate change project under the African Women in Science and Technology (AWFST), a programme of the African Technology Policy Studies (ATPS), the Head of Department of Agricultural Economics University of Nigeria Nsukka and the President of University Women’s Association, University of Nigeria Nsukka. She is currently the team leader of Nigeria’s Community Based Poverty Monitoring System (CBMS-Nigeria) and the coordinator of Agribusiness Development programme of the African Network for Agriculture, Agroforestry and Natural Resources Education (ANAFE), UNN

Prof (Mrs.) Achike has more than eighty publications to her credit comprising journal articles, conference proceeding and technical reports. She is also a member of many international and national professional bodies and an Associate Fellow of the African Institute for Applied Economics. She has participated in more than twenty international research and consultancy works, competed for and won many national and international research grants and successfully completed the projects.
