Biography :

Prof. F.C. Ekere is a Senior Lecturer and Coordinator postgraduate library internship programme of the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He holds the NCE, B.L.S., M.L.S., (ABU) and Ph.D (Nig.) he was the best graduating student of his set (1978) and was consequently employed as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Library and Information Science, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he lectured from July 1979 to December 1989 before he transferred his service to the University of Nigeria. Prof. Ekere has published many articles in Library professional journals. He has contributed several chapters to books and edited two texts in Library Administration and the Literature of Major Subject Areas. He has jointly published texts on Library Collection Development and Cataloguing and Classification. Three times Head of Department , one time Associate Dean of the Faculty of Education, and Ex-Associate Dean of Student Affairs. Prof. Ekere has considerable administrative experience. He presently contributing to the library profession and scholarship by teaching and supervising at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is also a Charted Librarian of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (CLN) and a member of the National Association of Library and Information Science Educationists (NALISE).
