Ani, Peace obtained her first degree (B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics) in 2008 from UNN, with First Class Honours she emerged as the best graduating student in the Department. She is currently on the verge of completing her Ph.D studies. Peace is actively involved in teaching and supervision. Her main research interests include non-communicable diseases, child and adolescent development, malnutrition, rural health, alcohol consumption, analysis of foods and household food security. Specifically she is interested in (1) Malnutrition: prevalence, predisposing factors, obesity in childhood and adolescence. (2) Non-communicable diseases: prevalence rates, effect of diet on risk factors of non-communicable diseases, effective ways of tackling nutrition-related non-communicable diseases and (3) Adequacy of indigenous dishes and use of indigenous foods in formulating therapeutic diets. She is open to collaboration/partnership with individuals or organizations interested in exploiting any of these research areas.
