Dr. Odo Finbarr Chidi hails from Udenu L.G.A of Enugu State. He is currently a Senior Lecturer of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Nigeria. He earned his PhD in astrophysics/cosmology from University of Nigeria in 2012. His main research focuses on development of theories of evolution of active galactic nuclei. Recently, Finbarr has developed great interest in studying indigenous knowledge of astronomy in West Africa. Dr. Finbarr Odo joined the academia in 2006 as Lecturer III at the Federal College of (Technical) Education Umunze in Anambra State. Between 2008 and 2016, he served as a Research Fellow at the National Centre for Energy Research and Development, Nsukka, Nigeria, where he worked on meteorological data modeling for wind energy applications. Since 2015, Dr. Odo has been a regular instructor at the West African International Summer School for Young Astronomers. He is currently the assistant editor-in-chief of the Publications of Astronomical Society of Nigeria.
