Dr. Uchechukwu Mordecai Ozughalu is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria. He has the following academic/professional qualifications: National Diploma (Business Administration & Management; Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana, Nigeria); B.Sc Hons(Economics; University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria); M.Sc (Economics; University of Ibadan, Nigeria); PhD(University of Ibadan, Nigeria); PGDE(from the National Teachers’ Institute, Kaduna, Nigeria - in affiliation with the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria). He is an erudite scholar and a gifted teacher. He won PhD research grants from the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) and the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA). He has served as a consultant to the World Bank on Socio-economic assessment. He has worked extensively on poverty and related issues. Indeed, he is an expert in poverty, vulnerability and other development issues. His research interests include development economics, economic theory and quantitative economics. He has taught courses on these areas at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has many reputable scholarly publications – both local and international – to his credit. He is a member of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES), Nigerian Statistical Association (NSA), Nigerian Association for Energy Economics (NAEE) and the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE).
