• The following students of Geology Department were beneficiaries of the Petroleum Tech Dev. Fund (PTDF) Local Scholarship for the 2006/2007  session.

One of the requirements for sustaining  the award is that the beneficiary maintenance an acceptable cumulative grade point average (CGPA) for all the years of students study in the University.

• In 2008, 41 students sat for the Petroleum Tech. Dev. Fund (PTDF)   scholarship examination for Postgraduate Studies, 2 PhD candidates defended their proposals for research sponsorship.  The results  are awaited.

• During the months of October 2008, (PTDF) sponsored  two academic staff of Geology Department to one year study leave abroad leading to the degree of Masters) at               

a.                   University of Manchester

b.                  The Imperial College London and

c.                   New Castle Upon Time, all in the United Kingdom.

The Staff are respectively, Mr. Anyiam O.A., Mr. Ene E, and Mr. Tony Nwani,  an assistant of  PTDF Chair Professor.
