The outlook of our Department is increasingly emhasizing specialtty based approach in patient care and surgical education to mirror the changes in the surgical problems and expectations of the Nigerian society. We are proud of our past as the first center for open heart surgery in black Africa, a center of excellence in cardiovascular surgery in Nigeria and our leading role in siamese twin surgery in Nigeria.
