Nkem B. Mgbemene is a Fine artist by profession. She received the Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine and Applied Art from the University of Benin, Benin City in 1996, and a Master of fine art degree (MFA- a terminal degree for professional fine artist) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2002. She also got an additional certificate in General Management Course (MSD 600) from the administrative collage of Nigeria (ASCON) Topo, Badagry Lagos State in 2014. Currently, she works as an Assistant Registrar/Secretary in the Institute of African Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Prior to then, from 2002-2003, she had worked in the Enugu State Government House as a senior Executive Officer and later transferred to the Enugu State Board of Internal Revenue as a Principal Executive Officer 1 where she worked until 2011 before joining the services of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. While in the University service, she had served in the Sandwich Unit and the Examinations Unit, both in the Registrars Department of the University. She participated in community service programmes. She is a member of special Marshal Unit of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). She also participated as a volunteer in annual health missions to Nigeria of the Goodness and Mercy foundation Savannah Georgia, USA. She is happily married with two children.
