Biography :

Professor Theophilus Chukwudolue Madueme was born on 21st June 1949 at Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. He had his primary school education at St. Andrew’s School, Diobu, Port Harcourt and Government Township School, Port Harcourt from 1957 to 1962. He had his secondary school education at Anglican Grammar School, Port Harcourt (1963-1964) and Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha (1965-1967, 1970-1972) where he got his West African School Certificate with Division One in 1971 and his Higher School Certificate in 1972. He then proceeded to Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden where he obtained his M. Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 1979. He was employed by the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1983 on completion of his National Youth Corps Service in January 1983. He got his Ph. D in Electrical engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1994. He was promoted to the rank of Professor in 2002. He was Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka from 2012 t0 2014. He is a Professor of Electrical Engineering. His research interests include Electric Power Systems, High Voltage Engineering and Renewable Energy Systems.  He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Electric Power Systems and High Voltage Engineering.  He is also a supervisor of Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degree students in the Department of Electrical Engineering. 
Professor Madueme has published over 50 academic papers in several national and international journals and conference proceedings. He has also attended several national and international Conferences and scientific workshops.
His main research interests include Power Insulator Manufacture and Pollution Characteristics and Cloud-to-ground lighting flash detection and protection.  His current research interests include FACTS technology, Particle Swarm Optimization technique and Artificial Neural Network applications. He is married with five children.
