UNN and NDSU to collaborate in research and staff exchangeThe Vice Chancellor, Professor B.N.Okolo, recently signed a memorandum of understanding with his counterpart at the North Dakota State University (NDSU), Fargos, USA, President Joseph Chapman. The MOU paves the way for staff of both universities to collaborate in research, and for students and staff of UNN and NDSU to benefit from a range of exchange programmes, which could see them travelling for short periods ranging from 3 to 12 months. In his brief remark at the end of the ceremony, the VC expressed his delight at the development and reitrated that it was counterproductive for academics to operate in isolation, and stressed that the benefits of such collaborations in terms of knowledge enrichment, exposure to international best practices and raising the profile of the university were innumerable. He asserted that his administration would continue to seek such collaborations with reputable institutions all over the world.
