Recruitment
The Personnel Services Department is charged with the following duties as it concerns staff recruitment:

Processing of requests for advertisement of staff vacancies.

Arranging to place advertisement in Nigerian and Overseas press.

Processing of applications for Senior and the Junior Staff appointments – permanent, contract, temporary, acting, adjunct and part-time in respect of  Academic, Administrative and Technical staff.

General correspondence on requests for Staff Recruitment with the Vice-Chancellor, other University functionaries and relevant outside bodies as well as prospective candidates and their referees.

All interview arrangements and preparation/distribution of Committee Working Papers.

Representing the Controller at Assessment Committee meeting at Faculty level  when called upon.

Issuance of appointment letters to all categories of appointees – permanent, contract, temporary, visiting, acting part-time and demonstrations.

Regularization of temporary appointments when due.

Renewal of contract and part-time appointments when due.

Processing of arrival reports of new appointees.

Processing and verification of claims submitted by part-time appointees.

Opening and numbering of files in respect of new appointees on assumption of duty, for onwards transmission to the Records Unit after all recruitment formalities and completed.
