The department offers a four year standard degree B.Sc. Health Administration and Management for JAMB entrance candidates. Successful candidates will earn a Bachelor of Sciences Honours degree.
Philosophy, Scope and Objectives
The department is designed to develop skills and understanding for management of hospitals, health institution and organization. Active learning will be promoted to enable students lead face up to problems and not to act as more recipients of knowledge. The course will provide comprehensive training in the principles and practice of Health Administration and Management.
It will provide an understanding of the administrative, political, social and economic aspects governing the delivery of Health Services. It bring focus on the skills and knowledge Required for effective management decision making in Health care organizations
Job Opportunities
The department is designed to produce highly skilled manpower for the management of hospitals, health centers, tertiary health institutions, research institutes, ministries of health regulatory bodies, training schools, federal medical centres, etc. Graduates of the programme will be registered by the institute of Health Services Administrators of Nigeria.
